How do I fix ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED on Chrome?

Looking for best solution of error code ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED or ERR CONNECTION REFUSED, then read full post to solved this error. The ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED error occurs on Google Chrome when you are trying open any webpage like Google, Facebook, Yahoo, etc. I received this error, when trying to own website (http://useful-info.org) as seen as below screenshot. So I was try to use some old solution that works better on DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NO_INTERNET and the 1st one working for me. So follow simple solutions to get rid of err_connection_refused error in Google Chrome.

The whole error as appears in google chrome is,

ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED

Google Chrome’s connection attempt to www.wiknix.com was rejected. The website may be down, or your network may not be properly configured.

Check your internet connection
Check any cables and reboot any routers, modems, or other network devices you may be using.

Allow Chrome to access the network in your firewall or antivirus settings.
If it is already listed as a program allowed to access the network, try removing it from the list and adding it again.

ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED

The error mainly occurs due to the problems in the internet connection and if there are problems in the devices you use to connect to the internet. So, to solve this problem, follow the below steps. So, check out how to fix ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED in Chrome.

Solution 1: Using Command Prompt

Open CMD (command prompt) Admin and RUN below command one by one.


ipconfig /release
ipconfig /all
ipconfig /flushdns
ipconfig /renew

netsh int ip set dns
netsh winsock reset

Now Restart your computer to get rid of ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED error.

Solution 2: Changing the DNS Address

Step 1:

Open Network and Sharing Center (Right Click on network icon) and click Change adapter settings.

Right click on Network Adapter (Wi-Fi, LAN, Ethernet) and click Properties.

Now select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) and click Properties.


Step 4:

Now add below DNS addresses as seen as below image.

  • Preferred DNS Server: 8.8.8.8
  • Alternate DNS Server: 8.8.4.4

That’s it. Problem Solved.
